To activate a segment in your Kotak Neo:

Alternatively you can follow the steps given below to activate your account:
Login to your account via the website or mobile app
- Click on “Profile” section
- Click on “Account details”
- Click on “Segments”
- Click on the Segment you wish to activate
- Select the document type* you want to upload
- Click on “Upload” and select the file you wish to upload
- Add password to document if any
- Click on “Confirm”
- Your segment will be activated within 1-2 working days.
You will get a mail confirmation and SMS once your segment is activated.
You can also check segment status under “Account details” in Profile section.
*Accepted Document types for income proof:
1. Bank statement for the last 6 months with at least one credit transaction/deposit of ₹10,000. The statement must be in the name of the Kotak Securities account holder. (Example: For the month of October 2023, the customer can submit bank statement from 1st April 2023 to 30th September 2023)
2. The latest salary slip with gross monthly income exceeding ₹10,000 (Example: For the month of October 2023, customer can submit salary slip of September 2023)
3. Certificate of net worth more than ₹10,00,000
4. Latest ITR (Income Tax Return) acknowledgement (Example: For the month of October 2023, customer can submit ITR acknowledgement of FY22-23)
5. Form 16 with gross annual income exceeding ₹1,20,000 (Example: For the month of October 2023, customer can submit Form16 of FY22-23)
6. Statement of demat holdings with current holdings value exceeding ₹10,000
Document formats supported: PDF, JPEG, JPG, PNG
Max size: 5 MB
- In case your portfolio holding is more than ₹10000, you will not be asked to upload any document
- Encrypted files are restricted from upload
- Post account opening, you cannot activate your segment till your account is active
- Online segment activation is allowed to only Individual Indian residents
- Non Individual/NRI customers can fill offline forms and submit to nearest branch
- Dormant/Inactive clients need to activate their account before submitting a segment activation request
- Customers who had their segments active before dormancy/inactivity need not activate their segments again. Just reactivate your account.
- Trades can only be placed once your segment is active
